Luxcare Senior Care

We researched Senior Care companies carefully before hiring one for our mother. Luxcare was at the top. Being locally owned and operated was important to us - as well as trained and knowledgeable staff. Luxcare, from first contact with office staff and management to the care givers, was caring and understanding. They stepped in when we needed help for our mom - and stepped up as those needs changed. Luxcare welcomed input on details of the care plan that made visits comfortable and personal for our mom. What a relief it was to know mom was receiving the help she needed and a delight to know that she enjoyed the personal attention and company. My sisters and I recommend Luxcare highly and have done so to others.

As well as providing great care to our mother who lives with dementia, Luxcare has been responsive, and flexible to her changing needs. The companionship (as well as the medication monitoring) provided by Myrna has been excellent. With the recent hospitalization and discharge, Luxcare quickly put a care plan in place. activated staff and worked with our family to meet mom's discharge and recovery needs. We are very grateful to Luxcare for their care, competence, friendliness and responsiveness in supporting us in supporting mom.

Luxcare if there were more stars I would give them 10 stars. One of the most professional caring agencies that I have come across. The staff are dedicated and extremely well trained. Janie the owner has compassion for her clients, making Luxcare a happy place, as well as a great care for them. Wish I lived in the area so when the time comes for me to check in at Luxcare.

Fantastic team to work with.! Out of all the jobs I have had Luxcare has been by far the most supportive and caring. This attitude and respect transcends to all clients and employees of this company. I have nothing but high praises for Luxcare, they provide top quality service with heart.

Fair warning to any who acquire their services expecting any kind of revelatory aid in the care of your loved one.We invoked the services of Luxcare to assist with the care of my family member who has become non-weight bearing. Upon acquiring their services we made this fact clear, saying that they could only hold their own weight for a few seconds, if even, and that we needed somebody to help us with bathroom related tasks (bathing, toilet, etc.). The woman they sent to provide these services was nearly 70 and only looked to weigh about 110-120 pounds. We were surprised to observe that she was unaware that my family member was non-weight bearing, as this information had apparently not been communicated to her. Needless to say, she was not able to complete the transfers required to accomplish these tasks, and instead spent the majority of the day sitting with my family member while they watched a movie. The next day we receiveda call from Luxcare saying that our family member required more substantial care then they had been lead to believe and that we would need to either purchase a mechanical lift (thousands of dollars) or hire additional staff. Bringing the monthly total (for only 3 hours/day) to over $8000, something we could not afford, particularly for a service which was not proving itself to be anything beyond what we ourselves were already being able to provide (in fact, less than). When we requested to cease the services, they insisted that we pay for the remainder of the contracted service time, even though they were now requiring us to hire more staff than had ever been agreed upon.We invoked the services of Luxcare under the belief that they would assist us in our time of need, when in fact, all they have done is attempt to gouge a struggling family of a few thousand dollars for services they, in the end, will not have rendered. Our experience has left me with an impression of Luxcare as a predatory company that really does not exemplify the quality of care they claim to provide to the families who acquire their services.Upon seeing so many 5 star reviews here, I am not surprised that many seem to have been written by employees.Edit (in response to follow-up): You were told she was non-weight bearing before any service had begun and anything had been signed, you did not inform us that this would require two aides until after we had already committed to the minimum length of term, this is our main grievance. We also did not deny that people within the home could assist, they in fact did on the days your staff were here, but ultimately we felt that the cost was too much for a service we would essentially be providing ourselves and requested to terminate given the new conditions.Follow up x2: Charged for 10 days when only 2 were worked by staff. Roped us into contract telling us that one person could fulfill our needs, then told us two were needed after contract had been signed. When we denied service under those new conditions they proceeded to charge us for the full service term anyways. Dishonest and predatory.

Luxcare is truly a company with a heart. When you visit Luxcare you can really tell the staff love what they do because they go above and beyond to make the clients feel comfortable and happy!

Over the year that Luxcare Senior Care staff have been visiting and assisting Mom, they have demonstrated commitment to client care, flexibility through several visit options, and responsiveness to changes and special requests. The administration staff communicate clearly and respond promptly to email and phone requests. The bi-weekly invoices are easy to understand and pay via e-transfer. I recommend Luxcare Senior Care to others looking for assistance in caring for their loved ones.
